In this video, we have country singer Neck Shoulders playing a special instrument called mouthbow.
This instrument is called also musical bow, bowstring or string bow. It comes from South Africa and it's made of a flexible, usually wooden stick, and a taut cord, usually metal. It can be played with the hands or a wooden stick or branch.
The Stylophone was invented in 1967 by Brian Jarvis and it's made of a metal keyboard made of printed circuit board and played by touching it with a stylus. Each note is connected to a voltage-controlled oscillator. It also has a vibrato control and a tuning potentiometer. Kids usually used it, but also professional musicians such as Rolf Harris and David Bowie.
