We try here to identify the tallest people in the world, men and women. We all know from the Wholly Bible that there were giants on Earth called Nephilims, but let’s find out the most recent ones 🙂
#1 Robert Wadlow – Height: 2.72 m (8 ft 11 in)
Robert Wadlow (1918 - 1940), known as the Alton Giant and the Giant of Illinois, was an American man who was the tallest person in recorded history. He was born and raised in Alton, Illinois, a small city near St. Louis, Missouri.
He reached 8 ft 11.1 in (2.72 m) in height and weighed 439 lb (199 kg) at his death at age 22, due to hypertrophy of his pituitary gland, which results in an abnormally high level of human growth hormone.
#2 John Rogan – Height: 2.67 m (8 ft 9 in)
John Rogan (1868 - 1905) was an American known as the second tallest person in history after Robert Wadlow, measuring 2.67 m (8 ft 9 in). He began to grow very rapidly at the age of 13, due to gigantism. This led to ankylosis, an abnormal rigidity of the skeletal joints. That's why, by 1882, he could not stand or walk. His weight was only 204 lb (92.5 kg).
#3 Väinö Myllyrinne – Height: 2.51 m (8 ft 3 in)
Väinö Myllyrinne (1909 – 1963) was a Finnish giant who stood 224 cm (7 ft 4 in) and weighed 141 kg (22 stone; 311 pounds) at the age of 21, but experienced a second phase of growth in his late thirties, attaining a height of 251.4 cm (8 ft 3.0 in) and weighing 376 lb (171 kg).
In the 1930s he traveled around Europe as a professional wrestler and circus performer.

#8 Anna Haining Bates – Height: 2.41 m (7 ft 11 in)
Anna Haining Bates (1846 - 1888), was a Canadian woman who had average height Scottish immigrant parents. She stood 7 feet 11 inches (2.41 m) tall. Swan excelled at literature and music and was considered to be very intelligent. She also excelled at her studies of acting, piano, and voice.
Her husband, Martin Van Buren Bates, was also a "giant", measuring also 7 feet 11 inches.
